Induced draft fans (ID fans) often handle air under harsh conditions, including high temperatures, sour drafts, and other extreme exhaust gases. They concentrate volume and pressure at the fan inlet, moving air and other materials or elements through the system. Extreme conditions may require special attention to unbalance, excessive vibration, temperature, maintenance and operating costs, but they can also operate at higher efficiencies relative to forced draft fans.
